Sound of the Streets Band

Bringing musical joy to the streets and spaces of Somerset, this colourful and vibrant band is packed with reeds, brass, drums and percussion. The band plays street music from around the world, especially New Orleans, carnival music. Folk, funk , ska, and soul and Somerset Songs.

 

The band are all Somerset based and they mix professionals, music teachers, amateur players and young musicians. The band is part of a project creating new bands around the county, for events like Carnival and is run by the charity The Sound of the Streets. who create festivals, parades, concerts and education projects, and support children and young people to play wind, brass and percussion.
